Anugrah Narayan Sinha (Singh) (June 18, 18871957), known as Bihar Bibhuti, was the first Finance Minister of the Indian state of Bihar (1946 – 1957).[1]He was also a Member of the Constituent Assembly of India, which was elected to write the Constitution of India and served as its first Parliament as an independent nation.[2]He also a held a range of portfolios including Labour, Local Self Government and Agriculture.[3]A.N. Sinha, affectionately called "Babu Saheb", was a very close associate of Mahatma Gandhi[4]during the freedom struggle movement and worked with Deshratna Dr. Rajendra Prasad and Bihar Kesari Dr. Sri Krishna Sinha to led the Gandhian movement in Bihar[5]

Along with his close collegue in the Indian independence movement Bihar Kesari Dr.Sri Krishna Sinha, the first Chief Minister of Bihar, he is considered one of[6]the makers of modern Bihar.[7]

His younger son[8] Satyendra Narayan Sinha (who was affectionately called "Chhote Saheb") also became a prominent freedom fighter leader[9] and later became[10]Chief Minister of Bihar.[11].His grandson Nikhil Kumar, a former IPS,currently represents the Aurangabad Lok Sabha constituency in Bihar. [12].Dr. Sinha served Bihar continuously from 1946 till his death in 1957
