Tragedies drive fear or even mass-hysteria, and then the freedom of minorities can be readily and selectively abolished by any majority. There is little trust in the intercession of the Divine. Man thus becomes god. The most significant destruction of freedom is done by those who would protect us from ourselves and from our own free choices.

Hurting people (unless provoked to self defense) is criminal or un-just at best. Injustice and crime is wrong. Unfactual accusations hurt people... and often that is the sole intent of the accusation. Find the facts and stop the injustice. In this, we allow freedom to flourish and show trust in Divine justice.
