Talk:Antonio de La Gandara
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Re. DW's query: I checked. Gandara, as a young artist - around 1884 - lived with his parents and brothers 10 rue d'Orchampt (Paris 18) on Montmartre. At that time, he was associated with the "Chat Noir" of Salis. It is only later that he became famous. PV.
Is this original work, or derived from another source? Can we fill in the full names of some of the people whose last names only are listed? -- Zoe
This guy, I think, will have to be removed from the Montmartre list of artists. As best I have found, and looking at the quoted age/success, he was a Paris elite artist and had nothing to do with the poverty stricken bunch in Montmartre who came there for the cheap rent. Someone should check it out....DW
