[edit] Reverted to old version through WP:BLP and attack concerns

I've left the following message on several editors' talk pages:

I've reverted your changes to Anthony Nalli, indeed at least three or four editors' changes, because the article was turning into an attack piece. WP:BLP concerns apply here. If you have information that has citable sources please return and add material as justified by those sources.

The page was being turned into an attack piece, and without any sources cited. Especially with "biographies of living people" (WP:BLP) sources are needed for both positive and negative statements. The old version reverted to does not meet those goals, either, but it at least wasn't making unsubstantiated attacks. Improvements appreciated, but with something to back them up please. Avrious statements made by Mr. Nalli when he opened this self-promoting entry about himself, have been qualified, as they had no independent verifications. This article is being rolled back to a previous version. Comments by unimpressed are a continued and well known personal attack. References to any specific business activity have been removed to avoid commercialism. References to any specific airport have been removed for reasons of privacy. Falsehoods such as the inaccurately stated point of the stories have been removed. Validation of the Wings Over Canada recognition can be found on their website which has been left out of the article so as not to include commercial links.

User: Notimpressed continues his public defamation campaign. This user is known and has been repremanded by administrators of other sites for his comments. Those other comments have since been removed.

Final paragraph is footnoted but neither footnote backs-up the claim.

I'm unsure of notability guidelines. Does www.pcas.ca "Close Calls Articles" count as self-published, and therefore unusable?

There remains no substantiation for the quote attributed to Wings Over Canada. Since the subject of the article is also its author, this could be a fabricated quote. Both footnotes are found at the site of the TV show having made the notation in the first place. Administrators have deemed this article and it's claims justified. Further comments on this matter will be disregarded.Avsafety (talk) 02:26, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

You're right. I fixed footnote two by finding an (the?) article that mentions the recognition. Kinda worried as I'd thought I'd gotten the 'right' one originally - worried maybe the site is moving bits of text around between articles?
Which brings us to footnote one. In that page, which discussed the upcoming season, it had that same blurp about Nalli. Now that the season has begun (I think that's what's happened anyway) they've dropped that page in favor of talking about the new season directly on the home page, minus some of the other 'upcoming' text. They changed the site out from under us. That happened to me yesterday at Falkland Islands - someone deleted a ref saying "dead link", which it was, but after a bit less than one hour (really!) I'd finally found how to reference the same information under the site's "new scheme". I didn't appreciate sites making dead links there either. "(stupid web sites - best practices not practiced)". I guess that's why one can fill in the part of the reference template to say "Retrieved on 2008-03-30.". Not even a week later and it's defunct!? But it did say it...
