It is a common misunderstanding that Queen Maud Land is not reaching the South Pole, but only the land areas inside the coast as stated in the original occupation text. According to common Norwegian understanding and the Norwegian Polar Institute the present view is that "the land areas inside the coast" is reaching 90°S. Jakro64 16:29, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
