Anthony Waichulis is a contemporary Trompe L'Oeil painter, originally from and currently residing in Mocanaqua, Pennsylvania, United States. Born in 1972, he was a talented draughtsman from early on. After graduating from school, he started a career as a fine artist and teacher. His school, The Waichulis Studio, serves as a forum for dedicated artists looking for the pinnacle of disciplines in representational art.
Many of his paintings are on display in San Francisco, California where his art dealer, John Pence, has a gallery. They are known nationwide for their stunningly realistic quality. Waichulis will often take months to paint just a small piece, achieving minute and painstakingly meticulous detail. Viewers are often beguiled at the precision of his works. They appear to contain actual objects, such as stamps and masking tape, but are in fact, comprised of oil paints.
