"WikiStatus" is a short statement of my current attitude towards Wikipedia, along the lines of the {{Wikistress}} or {{WM}} images you see on other users' pages.

Ugh. An invasion of deletionists on one side, apathy on another, some jerk on a third... And whininess IRL too. Such fun. Maybe it's getting around to time for another Wikibreak already?

They went and deleted my poor little mushroom off of Commons, because some random person thought it was too similar to a 16x16 icon from an old Nintendo game (and even though when Nintendo was able to make it bigger, their bigger version looked nothing like what I made). And one of my other icons is being harassed by some wikijerk who can't seem to realize that simple geometric figures are non-copyrightable. It's enough to make someone want to give up on Commons...

I suppose I can be really back now, maybe I'll even start watching some of the pages I used to watch again (although a number of them have crept back on the WL while I was supposedly gone). Still trying to avoid wikistress, even though I'm becoming slightly more than peripherally involved in another VG soon-to-be FAC.

Things actually went rather worse than anticipated. I suppose I'm back, but I'm still trying not to get involved in much of anything.

Taking a Wikibreak until mid-April, unless things turn out much better than anticipated. The lesson here is not to trust anyone, apparently.

I've been paying attention to Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Episodes and characters 2, and it hasn't been discouraging me too badly despite the same old arguments from certain quarters that are aimed at promoting their desire to delete rather than to reaching an actual consensus; I won't name any names as that wouldn't be civil. But then there's a bit of pointiness and deletionism on WT:NOT (which I really need to unwatch), and some people wanting to delete Image:WikiShroom2.svg based on its vague resemblance to [1]. Hopefully they don't succeed, but things are not looking too good about now.

Still trying to avoid getting mired in hopeless policy debates, which has been working fairly well. I'm (irrationally?) hopeful that we can reach a rational resolution of at least some issues, but we'll see how the situation develops.

I've been spending too much time on Wikipedia lately, particularly as a result of the rampant m:exclusionism and m:deletionism exemplified by this (and in particular, the people full of WP:ABF and "the ends justify the means" in support of mass-deletion on a scale where it is almost humanly impossible to actually participate in the necessary discussions).

I realized last night that I don't need to care. Let them reduce the usefulness of Wikipedia in an effort to improve it. I'll just watchlist the few articles I really care about and let everything else go to hell. Whee.
