Ann Bourget

Ann Bourget (born 1969) has been city councillor for the Montcalm district in the city of Québec, Quebec, Canada and was, for a time, the leader of the Renouveau municipal de Québec, the political party holding the majority of the seats in the city council.
She was first elected city councillor for Montcalm, one of the districts forming the borough of La Cité, in the municipal general election of 2001, with the Renouveau municipal de Québec party of mayor Jean-Paul L'Allier. During this first term, she was in charge of the affairs relating to environnement, immigration, infrastructures and public works and she was a member of the city's executive committee.
She was reelected to her charge of councillor in the municipal general election on November 6, 2005. Soon after, she became leader of the Renouveau municipal de Québec party. Thus, in the city council, she became at the same time the leader of the majority group and, paradoxically, the leader of the official opposition during the tenure of mayor Andrée P. Boucher (who had been elected as an independent candidate and was allied with the council's minority group), from November, 2005 to August, 2007.Bourget then lost her bid to herself become mayor of Québec(December 2007).[1]
Mrs.Bourget is now general manager of the Fédération québécoise des municipalités(FQM).
