Ankali matha near chandravalli, chitradurga, karnataka was an ancient monastery. This sub-terranean monastery was first used by Buddhist monks for its ideal location amongst greenery and serene atmosphere. Later it was a monastery of the Agamic Tantra Shaiva monastery and then Veerashaiva monastery. The picture shows a container of the Vibhuti - holy ash. Observe the delicate work and the paintings on the wall.
