Piyo Piyo Piyoko-chan (ぴよぴよぴよこちゃん Piyo Piyo Piyokochan?) is a manga series created by Hina. A prequel/spin-off to the current story line of Di Gi Charat, this series centers around Piyoko and her acceptance into the notorious "gang of evil", the Black Gema Gema Gang (ブラックゲマゲマ団, also abbreviated as BG団). A drama CD was also released as a furoku. Currently, there is no official english release of this manga, nor does there seem to be any planned.

[edit] Story

This story seems to take place a year or two prior to the current Di Gi Charat story line, as the Black Gema Gema Gang is still living on Planet Analogue (アナローグ星). Piyoko is participating at a "Evil Aesthetics School" in order to become the perfect "Leader of Evil" (as her parents are the queen and king of Analogue, though she keeps this a secret to her peers.) Her classmate, Kyuara (キュアラ, also written as "Kyuala") is a borerline-obsessive Black Gema Gema Gang fan, and is the first to tell Piyoko about this supposed gang of great evil.

When Piyoko is going home from school, she finds herself lost and scared in a dark alley, but suddenly stumbles upon some candy. The candy makes a path back to where she needed to be, and she suddenly sees a boy with a jacket and glasses watching her from the fence. He runs away before she can ask him if he was helping her with the candy, but Piyoko finds herself constantly thinking about this mysterious "Candy Assistance on the Street-san" (お菓子の道案愛さん). The following day, when Kyuara is showing off a new poster of the Black Gema Gema Gang she bought to Piyoko, Piyoko gets excited and is certain that one of the members (Ky, though his real name is unknown to her at this time) is her mystery helper.

Piyoko and Kyuara infiltrate their school that night, as rumors that the gang was meeting there were floating around, and Piyoko gets separated from Kyuara only to find herself saved from a pack of wolves by the Black Gema Gema Gang. She helps them in return by using her "Upchuck Bazooka" (口からバズーカ, lit. "bazooka from the mouth") to scare the wolves off. Impressed by her power, they quickly accept her as one of their own (completely against Piyoko's protests), and before she knows it, Piyoko is suddenly a member of the Black Gema Gema Gang and their ridiculous attempts at causing trouble for the citizens of Planet Di Gi Charat (デ・ジ・キャラット星).

[edit] Characters

Most of the characters were created by Koge-Donbo (with the exception of Kyuara, Piyoko's teacher, and the assorted background characters) and came from the original Di Gi Charat series. It may be noted that Dejiko and the other main characters of the original story line do not play any role (though Puchiko does occasionally make a cameo in the short stories, and Dejiko and Puchiko appear in the last chapter, which catches up with the current story line back on earth).
