The Diocese of Southwark forms part of the Province of Canterbury in England. It was formed on May 1, 1905 from part of the Diocese of Rochester.[1]
It covers Greater London south of the River Thames and north and east Surrey.
The diocese is divided into three Episcopal Areas each of which contains two Archdeaconries:
- Croydon Episcopal Area (overseen by the Bishop of Croydon)
- Kingston Episcopal Area (overseen by the Bishop of Kingston)
- Woolwich Episcopal Area (overseen by the Bishop of Woolwich)
- the Archdeaconry of Lewisham
- the Archdeaconry of Southwark
- includes Deaneries of Bermondsey, Camberwell, Dulwich and Southwark & Newington
