[edit] Wisconsin weekly newspapers

Question about your recent edit. Aren't the Baraboo, Portage and Beaver Dam newspapers dailies? I'm pretty sure they are, but I thought I'd check before removing them from the list of weeklies. Thanks, Dmp348 23:00, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

You are absolutely correct. I was just updating the newspapers from Capital Newspapers quickly and I didn't catch that. The dailies will be removed. Thanks for the catch! --Andymarek 14:09, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Prods and newspaper list articles

Hi Andymarek. Thank you for working on the United States newspapers area. There is a lot of work that needs to be done in that area of Wikipeida and I am happy to see that you have taken an interest in it. I appreciate receiving the multiple prod warnings posted on my talk page. However, {{prod}} is for uncontroversial deletion candidates that do not meet the criteria for speedy deletion. See Wikipedia:Proposed deletion. For each posted prod, a reason given seems to be that the region does not produce or receive any newspapers. The articles probably meet WP:CSD#A3 and/or WP:CSD#A7 and {{db}} may have been a better approach. Given that there were multiple articles created months ago with little to no activity since that time, I would have been just as happy to receive a request for me to request deletion of the articles under WP:CSD#G7. If you see any more of these articles, please feel free to be bold and use {{db}}. -- Jreferee 06:15, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for the encouragement to ::be bold::. These pages were my first deletion requests and out of an abundance of caution, I did not want to request speedy deletion simply because I was not 100% sure these pages qualified. For pages like this in the future, I will request speedy deletion. Again, thank you for your encouragement. --Andymarek 11:15, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
The areas listed in each article are not uninhabited, but rather disputed inhabited insular areas. Those articles are transcluded into disputed inhabited insular area newspapers. They were given their own article by myself so that they may be transcluded into the master US newspaper article. I was trying to be thorough and did not want to leave any area of the United States out of the list. Insular area was a great article for this because it describes all the areas of the United States. Regarding the articles, if these articles do not actually list any content (e.g., list any newspapers) by now, its fine to db delete them. Someone will recreate them once they locate newspapers for these areas. In your db speedy delete description, you may wish to include the actual CSD reason (e.g., WP:CSD#A3 and/or WP:CSD#A7) so that the CSD deletion admin does not have to go looking for it. As for using prod, I have found it one of the more anger inspiring user tools. It seems to inspire more anger than if you put the articles up for deletion or requested speedy deletion. If you are new to using {{prod}}, you may first wish to review Category:Proposed deletion to get an idea as to how others have used prod. -- Jreferee 14:00, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Template:WikiProject Wisconsin

I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to do here. That code was intended, based upon a request to remove the "unassessed importance" from pages that weren't article talk pages. —Disavian (talk/contribs) 19:43, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

Ahh, I see. I think I fixed the problem now. —Disavian (talk/contribs) 19:46, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Gay

Hi Andy, I'm gay. I live in New Berlin, WI too. Noticed your edits when I went on the New Berlin WI page. Haha! I am 20 years old and noticed you're a smart young guy yourself who's in college. :) Can we get to know each other through e-mail? EverybodyHatesChris 14:59, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

EverybodyHatesChris, I no longer live in New Berlin but nearby Greenfield and have graduated from college. If you would like to chat via e-mail, that would be fine. However you should know that I am not gay and am engaged. --Andymarek 15:13, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
No fair, I don't get hit on through my talk page :-( Karl Shea 16:25, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
For the record, Karl is gay and is from New Berlin too. --Andy Marek 21:09, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Why do you continue to impersonate me?

Andrew, if that's even your name, why do you continue to impersonate me here on Wikipedia? It's causing all of these problems and I wish you'd just leave me alone. 220.76.90.242 08:54, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

I am glad you are having so much fun with this. All because I sent you a warning? It just seems so pathetic but as long as you are having fun. --Andy Marek 15:00, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
Ya know what, Andy? I am having fun. I just really enjoy self-righteous Milwaukee people. I especially like people who never leave their home town no matter what. And working for Aurora in the middle of a dead town surrounded by dead suburbia (part of which you make up) must feel mighty rewarding. And to think! The Marquette Interchange is about to be completed! That must make your commute easier. It's probably the most exciting news you've had since you figured out how to jerk off about a decade ago. Or since that big factory exploded. Or since Miller Park was built. Or since you were hanging out at the god-awful UWM union. Isn't the East Side just a blast?! It's like Milwaukee's own little Greenwich Village. There are teens of places to go eat and even more places to park. Great! Wow, you really got it made. New Berlin...almost as great as the REAL Berlin! Oh, and Greenfield! How romantic! Much nicer than Maryland Ave, right? Hey nice website, by the by. And this all brings us to Wikipedia. Ah yes, Wikipedia. There is no better place in all the eLand to show your true pretentiousness. As a native Milwaukeean with severe real city envy, I can imagine that instead of picking yourself up and getting out of a dead town, you have taken it all in, internalized it, and regurgitated it with an air of pompousness. And what the hell is up with using your actual name as your login on Wikipedia? I understand that you are some sort of poseur computer scientist, but I thought that even in AOL computer training it's taught not to use any real information as a login. Much less when you have a resumé out there with real information and a real history that is so searchably easy to find. You even list your goddamn birthday on your userpage here. I wish I had more time and motivation to pull an actual identity theft because lord knows it'd be easy. And in the case of a wannabe computer nerd, it'd be all the more insulting. I suggest you take a step back and really examine your life. 24, the world as your oyster, and being stuck in Greenfield. REALITY CHECK. 220.76.91.137 11:54, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
I hope you feel better. I know I do. --Andy Marek 12:21, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Passed as GA, good job!

[edit] Your GA nomination of Aurora Health Care

The article Aurora Health Care you nominated as a good article has passed , see Talk:Aurora Health Care for eventual comments about the article. Good luck in future nominations.

-- Yours, Smee 20:57, 28 May 2007 (UTC).

Thanks for passing the article Smee. That was the first article I ever wrote for Wikipedia and having it at GA-level is quite rewarding. Thanks again, Andy Marek 09:28, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Wisconsin Counties - Infobox

Dude, great job adding all those infoboxes. Because of you, I'd say almost 100% of U.S. Counties use this infobox... great consistency. Thanks again!! Timneu22 16:42, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
