I think that she was the first winner is significant if the show is renewed for another season. Also, the date of the announcement may be important. Finally, I believe the fact that she was a cashier in a dollar store is notable because it is so far removed from the world of fashion models and lends to the notable "rags to riches" nature of the story. Andrea claims that contrary to popular belief, she is still modeling but not well known as shown in this article http://jam.canoe.ca/Television/2007/07/15/4341169-sun.html.
