Is "Parmy" in the list of salonieres an actual person (if so, whom?) or is it just a French word parmy that somehow confused some translator? -- Jmabel 23:26, Jul 5, 2004 (UTC)

This page uses what can best be described as "odd" English. I assume it is translated from French. It is not translated well. Some sentences make no sense whatsoever.
For example:
The record of his last moments by La Touche is rather melodramatic and is certainly not above suspicion.
...or...
Robespierre, who was himself on the brink of the volcano, remembered the venomous sallies in the Journal de Paris
...mean what exactly?

I'm left little the wiser about Chénier's life. Why was he imprisoned? I really can't tell from this account.
The whole page needs to be rewritten by someone who 1. speaks English natively, and 2. knows something about the subject. Right now this is just yet one more example of why wikipedia is mediocre at best. Seriously folks, this is not a fun place to post up the translation class essays. Hi ! I've found this commemorative plate Image:Louveciennes Voisins plaque Chénier.jpg in Louveciennes. I translate : « The poet André Chénier (1762 - 1794) sheltered here by Mme Le Coulteux celebrated his hostess under the name of Fanny ». The here is the former castle of Voisins replaced in 1820 by this one : Image:Louveciennes Château de Voisins.JPG. Is anyone sure he spent some time in the plateau de Satory (south suburb of Versailles) as said in the article instead of Louveciennes city at about 6 kilometers in the north of Versailles.
