Andy Parsons (born 1967) is a British comedian and writer, probably now best known as a regular panelist on Mock the Week. With comedy partner Henry Naylor, he has written and presented nine seasons of Parsons and Naylor’s Pull-Out Sections for BBC Radio 2.
Parsons met Naylor at Cambridge University, where they helped run the Footlights comedy society.[1] After studying law, Parsons got a job working on a case at the Glasgow shipyards, which he describes as "the most tedious thing I'd ever done."[2] He established, with Naylor, TBA, London's first sketch comedy club.[1]
He has written for Spitting Image and Alas Smith and Jones, and provided the voice of "Cool Cat" in the 1992 Press Gang episode "Bad News". He has also appeared as a guest on They Think It's All Over and BBC Radio 5 Live's Fighting Talk. He became a regular panelist on Mock the Week in 2005, and he appears occasionally on QI.
After writing for Week Ending, Parsons and Naylor were offered their own show.[1] He is currently on a UK nationwide tour.
