Andrew Lally (born on in Northport, New York) is an American race car driver. He is best known for his road racing expertise. Lally currently drives the #7 Chevrolet for TRG Motorsports in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.

[edit] Early career
Lally began his career in karting, culminating with 2 WKA National Gold Cup Championships. Andy first got into sports cars in 1993 with his first sponsor Tyrolean Motors with car owner Walter Simondinger running SCCA regional events. In 1997 Lally won the USF2000 Rookie of the Year in his first full year in a professional series.

In 2007 Andy made his NASCAR debut in both the Busch Series (now Nationwide Series) and the Craftsman Truck Series. Lally had one top ten finish in two starts with the #47 Wood Brothers Ford and made three starts in the Craftsman Truck Series with TRG Motorsports.[1]

Andy is a 3 time Grand Am Rolex Series Champion. He holds series records for most all time top 3 and top 5 finishes and is third on the all time class win list with 18 victories.[citation needed]
Lally's prototype results include a 1st in class at the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona, 2nd in class at the Petit Le Mans, 3rd in Class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and a 2nd overall and in class at the 2008 12 Hours of Sebring.

2006, 2004 and 2001 Rolex Grand Am Champion. 2001 24 Hours of Daytona class winner. Currently holds the record for most podium (top 3) finishes in Grand American Rolex Series history, also holds the record for most podium finishes in a single season. Third on all time win list and has won more races than any other series driver in the last three years. Lally is the first and only three time Rolex Series Champion.
In the last 7 years Andy has 3 professional Championships and 4 runner up finishes.
Andy's oval experience includes Nascar Nationwide Series, Craftsman Trucks, ARCA, Goodies Dash, Legends, Formula 2000, and the Barber Dodge Pro Series.
2008 2nd place in GT Class Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona. 11th place in season opening Craftsman Truck Series and 2nd overall in the Mobil1 12 Hours of Sebring.
2007 6 wins, 10 top three and 12 top five finishes .
2006 5 wins and 13 top three finishes while winning 2006 Grand Am Rolex GT Championship driving the Pontiac GTO.R. 1 win 4 podiums 1pole in Grand Am Cup, finishing 2nd in Championship driving a Porsche 997. 3rd place at 2006 24 Hours of Le Mans.
2005 2 wins, 2 poles, 7 podiums. 2nd in Rolex GT Championship by one point. Raced in 24 Hours of Le Mans. 2 wins in Grand Am Cup. First driver in the world to win a professional race in the new Chevy Cobalt.
2004 Rolex Grand Am SGS Champion. Two wins, seven second place finishes, one pole position and four fast race laps.
2004 ALMS LMP2. Three races with Team RCC, three second place finishes. One fast race lap.
2003 ALMS GT. First non Michelin team to podium. Road America 7/03
2003 Rolex Grand Am Daytona Prototype. Three Podium finishes in four races. G&W Motorsports.
2002 Rolex Grand Am SRP2. One win, nine podium finishes.
2002 ALMS LMP900 partial schedule with Intersport Racing, Lola
2002 ALMS LMP675 Partial schedule with Knighthawk Racing including Sebring and Petite.

2000 Barber Dodge Pro Series Four podium finishes in eight races. 2000 SPEED World Challenge partial schedule in both GT and Touring 2000 ACRL 2 poles, one win in two races 2000 Grand Am Cup Team Championship, 2nd in points because of missing a race early but supported teammate (same car) to the Championship. Three wins, three poles, four fast race laps. 1999 Grand Am Cup 2nd in Championship, two wins, two poles. First driver in the world to win a professional race in the BMW Z3. 1999 TEAM USA One of three drivers picked by Indy car panel of judges to represent the best up and coming drivers in the USA to compete in a European "winter series" 1999 Formula Palmer Audi 5th in Championship 1998 USF2000 Championship 4th in championship, 6 podium finishes, one fast race lap. 1997 USF2000 Championship 5th in points Rookie of the Year. 1996 and 1997 Member of Team KOOL Green Academy. CART team formed to support young up and coming drivers.
