Andy Bausch was born in 1959 in Dudelange (Luxembourg), and studied painting and photography. Through his interest in rock music, Bausch came into contact with cinema.

The films he has directed include Troublemaker (1988), A Wopbopaloobop A Lopbamboom (1989), Ex und hopp (TV, 1991), Three Shake-A-Leg Steps To Heaven (1993), Letters Unsent (1996), Back In Trouble (1997), Zwei Brueder - Abschied (TV, 2001), Le Club des chômeurs (2001) and Deepfrozen (2006).
