[edit] History
[edit] In Power Rangers In Space
Andros is from the planet KO-35, and possesses telekinesis. He has long been the Red Space Ranger. When he was a child, his sister, Karone, was kidnapped by Darkonda. Andros made it his goal to find his sister. After becoming a Ranger, he and his best friend Zhane, the Silver Space Ranger, teamed up to defend the galaxy. On one mission, Zhane was mortally wounded, and Andros kept him alive by freezing him and keeping him a special chamber inside the Astro Megaship.
When the Turbo Rangers left the Earth after the Power Chamber had been destroyed, Andros found them, first mistaking them for intruders. After some convincing, he gave them the other four Astro Morphers. Andros became the leader of the team.
During the series, Andros developed a relationship with fellow Ranger Ashley Hammond. At the same time, Zhane was released from the cyrogenic chamber was the Megaship crashed, and the two friends were reunited. Andros became jealous when he saw Zhane spending time with Ashley, but Zhane convinced him that they were just friends, so Andros was able to ask her out on a date. He also discovered that Karone had become the evil princess Astronema. He managed to convince her to change her allegiance, but she was captured again and brainwashed.
In the finale episode, Countdown to Destruction, Andros boarded Astronema's Dark Fortress and discovered Zordon, who had been missing since the beginning of the series. At Zordon's insistence, and much hesitation, Andros shattered Zordon's energy tube, which released a wave of energy that destroyed the army attacking the universe. This act also freed Astronema of her brainwashing, and he was reunited with his sister again.
[edit] In Power Rangers Lost Galaxy
Andros later returned when he and the other Space Rangers teamed up with the Lost Galaxy Rangers to defeat the Psycho Rangers.
[edit] In Power Rangers Wild Force
Andros returns in Forever Red to combat the forces of the Machine Empire and Serpentera. He brings along with him Alpha 7 and a new Megaship, although it is unknown if this ship can turn into an Astro Megazord. He and Tommy Oliver are the two coordinate the mission and bring along eight other Red Rangers.
[edit] Trivia
| Trivia sections are discouraged under Wikipedia guidelines. The article could be improved by integrating relevant items and removing inappropriate ones. |
- Andros is the first Red Ranger to have a Battlizer.
- Andros and Karone are the first siblings to both be Power Rangers, although they would not technically serve on the same team (Karone was designated an honorary Power Ranger by Andros's teammates, but only became a full Ranger capable of morphing and piloting a Zord when she was chosen to replace the then-deceased Kendrix Morgan on the Lost Galaxy team). Subsequent siblings Leo and Mike Corbett (who are actually Karone's teamates), Dana and Ryan Mitchell, Hunter and Blake Bradley and Madison and Vida Rocca would serve on together.
- Andros is the first Ranger to be related to a villain- Karone is his sister. This wouldn't be repeated until Power Rangers Ninja Storm, where Cam Watanabe is Lothor's nephew, and again in Power Rangers: Dino Thunder, where Trent Fernandez-Mercer is the (adopted) son of Anton Mercer, Mesogog's alter ego. Dana Mitchell (Power Rangers: Lightspeed Rescue) and Nick Russell (Power Rangers: Mystic Force) are each related (younger sister and son, respectively) to evil rangers who turn to the side of good.
- A Power Rangers: SPD flashback features Doggie Cruger wielding a weapon that was originally believed to be Andros's Spiral Saber, as well as wearing a disguise similar to his trademark red cloak (seen in "From Out of Nowhere," "Flashes of Darkonda," "To the Tenth Power" and "Forever Red"). However, it was confirmed by Koichi Sakamoto through Bruce Kalish that this was not the case.
- Andros was the first core team member originating from a planet besides Earth, followed by Maya (Yellow Galaxy Ranger, from Mirinoi), Trip (Green Time Force Ranger, from Xybria) and, of course, his sister, Karone (second Pink Galaxy Ranger, from KO-35). He is, by his own admission, human, while Trip is a Xybrian and Maya's species is unspecified. Other extraterrestrial rangers include the Alien Rangers (from Aquitar), Trey of Triforia (from Triforia), The Phantom Ranger (from Eltar), Zhane (from KO-35), Doggie Cruger (from Sirius), and Tyzonn (a Mercurian) .
