Malta
He is a member of Malta national football team. He scored twice in the historical 2-1 home victory versus Hungary in the autumn 2006, which ended Malta's 13-year wait for a competitive victory. He scored another goal for the Maltese national team in the match against Turkey when he gave the temporary 2-1 advantage to the islanders. The match finished a 2-2 draw. Many believe that André has gained his ability thanks to his father and his grandfather who also played for the Maltese national team.
