"An Open Letter to NYC" is a single by the Beastie Boys. It documents many things that have happened to themselves because of New York City. It also hints at the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center. The single failed to chart everywhere except for the UK where it made the Top 40. It entered & peaked at number 38.
This song is included in the video game NBA Street V3.
The opening of the song features a clip from Sonic Reducer by The Dead Boys, as well as a brief sample of Sammy Davis, Jr. singing "New York's My Home."
