Amtali is located at 22.1294° N 90.2289° E . It has 45804 units of house hold and total area 720.76 km².

As of 1991 Bangladesh census^[1], Amtali has a population of 244438. Males constitute are 50.39% of the population, and females 49.61%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 119889. Amtali has an average literacy rate of 33.9% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate. ^[2]
