[edit] The Survey

Please consider the following statements (click the links for complete articles) and then answer the questions below.

“It should be thought of as a work in progress -- it's our intention to be Britannica or better quality, and our policies and everything are designed with that goal in mind. We don't reach that quality yet -- we know that. We're a work in progress.” [1]

“We are at a moment in Internet history where a lot of idealism exists. But for how long? Forever? Could Wikipedia collapse under its own weight? Are we at the peak of some golden age of information access that we'll never see again? ...How delicate is this mechanism in the long run?”...Remember, Wikipedia's writers are all volunteers. Volunteer work such as this goes in cycles. People lose interest over time. My advice: Enjoy it while you can. [2]

1. On a Likert scale from 1-10 (1: completely illegitimate/not credible, 10: perfect), where would you rate Wikipedia at present?
2. Where do you think Wikipedia will rate on the scale in one year?
3. Two?
4. Five?
5. Ten?
Comments:
6. Will Wikipedia ever reach the “Britannica gold standard”? (Yes or No)
7. How? How long will it take?
8. Do you see yourself contributing to Wikipedia at the same frequency in the near future? (Yes or No)
9. What about 5 or 10 years down the road?(Yes or No)
