Ampersand Network

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Ampersand Network is a not-for-profit organisation, committed to improving the appeal and accessibility of volunteering for young people in Australia[1].

The Ampersand Network is the first entirely youth-run organisation in Australia to have two of its Directors named Victorian finalists in the Young Australian of the Year[2] [3]

Since its launch in 2005[4], the Ampersand Network has provided access to over 5,000 volunteer opportunities Australia wide, and hundreds more with international development agencies abroad, such as Australian Volunteers International, Students Partnership Worldwide and Global Vision International[5].

Each year, the Ampersand Walk[6] gives young Australians the opportunity to 'volunteer their feet' for charitable organisations.[7].

In 2004 The Ampersand network was applauded for their work in The Austrlian Senate.

In 2005 The Ampersand Network received an Anti-Poverty Award for Young Victorians.
