This is a generic template intended for use in article for teams outside the NFL or CFL. It is largely derived from Template:NFL team but with the NFL-specific parts removed. It also incorporates Template:American football uniform to enable display of the team colours.

• name Name of the team
• founded Year when the team was founded
• helmetimage [OPTIONAL] File name of the team helmet image, in the form image_name.ext
• logo [OPTIONAL] File name of the image logo, in the form image_name.ext
• logosize [OPTIONAL] Width of logo image (in px)
• city Name of the town/city where the team is based in
• misc Miscellaneous information about the team (i.e. year team was disbanded)
• The following fields form the team kit images, and are part of part of Template:American football uniform. The "h_" and "a_" prefixes refer to the home (first) and away (alternate) team colours.
  • pattern_h [OPTIONAL] Indicates helmet design, currently only "_af" (leave this field blank).
  • pattern_la [OPTIONAL] Indicates left sleeve design, currently only "_af" (leave this field blank).
  • pattern_b [OPTIONAL] Indicates body design, see baseball uniform template's Talk Page for available patterns, or leave blank.
  • pattern_ra [OPTIONAL] Indicates right sleeve design, currently only "_af" (leave this field blank).
  • pattern_p [OPTIONAL] Indicates pants design, currently no patterns available so leave this field blank.
  • pattern_s [OPTIONAL] Indicates socks design, currently no patterns so leaves this field blank.
  • helmet [OPTIONAL] Indicates helmet colour - enter the required hex code (minus the hash sign). Defaults to black.
  • leftarm [OPTIONAL] Indicates left sleeve colour - enter the required hex code (minus the hash sign). Defaults to black.
  • body [OPTIONAL] Indicates body colour - enter the required hex code (minus the hash sign). Defaults to black.
  • rightarm [OPTIONAL] Indicates right sleeve colour - enter the required hex code (minus the hash sign). Defaults to black.
  • pants [OPTIONAL] Indicates pants colour - enter the required hex code (minus the hash sign). Defaults to black.
  • socks [OPTIONAL] Indicates sock colour - enter the required hex code (minus the hash sign). Defaults to black.

• no_playoffs [OPTIONAL] Total number of playoff appearances acheived (not including conference / division championships), default value is 0
• playoffs [OPTIONAL] A list of the seasons in which the team has appeared in the playoffs
• no_div_champs [OPTIONAL] Total number of division championships, default value is 0
• div_champs [OPTIONAL] A list of the seasons in which the team has a division championship
• no_conf_champs [OPTIONAL] Total number of conference championships, default value is 0
• conf_champs [OPTIONAL] A list of the seasons in which the team has a conference championship
• no_league_champs [OPTIONAL] Total number of division championships, default value is 0
• league_champs [OPTIONAL] A list of the seasons in which the team has a national league championship
• stadium_years A list of the team's previous and current home fields
