Talk:American Life (song)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
MTV-style mash-up (if possible) of the vocal parts of Madonna's "American Life" and the instrumental base of Papa Roach's "Broken Home" = REALLY A BOMB, MUCH MORE INFECTIOUS THAN THE ONES DESCHARGED TO IRAQ BY U.S. FORCES!!!

[edit] Incorrect Meaning, Isn't that POV?
This entry included a totally incorrect "explination" of the meaning of the song. Here it is.
Unlike the controversial music video, which deals with politics, "American Life", as a song, is a criticism of American lifestyles, fame, and desires. In the song, Madonna notes that American culture is obssessed with changing their names or losing weight in order to become famous. She also notes that Americians are becoming too self reliant on outside help by hiring personal lawyers, managers, agents, chefs, bodyguards, nannies, drivers, or other unneeded employees. Madonna also realizes that Americian culture is becoming obsessive with fitness/health crazes such as soy lattes, yoga, and pilates. These actions move Madonna to sing, "American life. I live the American dream... You are the best thing I've seen...". It should also be noted that Madonna "raps" the bridge of the song.
Aside from the fact that this is a complete misinterpretation, does an explination of the song's meaning even belong here? Isn't that POV?

[edit] Semi-Automatic Machine Gun?!?!?
- What the hell is that? Do you mean battle rifle? Assault rifle? Sub-machine gun? Just plain machine gun? I'm changing it to just simply machine gun because I have never heard of a "semi-automatic" machine gun.--Big Mac 03:49, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Incorrect Grade
- It states that Madonna (AKA Miss Ancient) is a general. Incorrect from the very image on this page. She appears (by the rank on her sleeve) to be a Sergeant Major. I'm only changing it because this bitch has done enough to insult soldiers like me with her stupidity and worthless music.--Big Mac 03:53, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Scan3b.jpg
Image:Scan3b.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
