[edit] Old Comments
In case anyone differs with my deletion of the term "pro-2nd amendment", let me note that I happen to be against most firearms restrictions on law-abiding citizens. It's an NPOV issue. The term "pro-life" (and "pro-choice") appear to be used within Wikipedia without much NPOV concerns, so I'm happy to leave it alone.

The article needs to be toned down overall to comply with NPOV.

I don't know much about this party, but this article seems negative. 66.205.108.8 02:15, 14 January 2006 (UTC)
John Pittman Hey I deleted the statement that the party opposes the Supremacy Clause of the Constitution. It does not. It's argument in favor of public expressions of religious faith is grounded in the text of the Constitution itself, and not in any argument about God's Law or Natural Law.
[edit] New edits
I have made some edits, because there were a large number of gross distortions in the previous article.
Here is a sampling of some of the distortions/problems:
1. the article suggested that the party is no longer active
2. stated that there was a "Bo-Gritz" convention -- there was not.
3 stated that the party is isolationist -- it is not, but rather favors certian types of international relations over others.
4. Falsly claimed that the AFP wishes to repeal the 14th amendment -- in fact the AFP has endorsed the Right to Life Act which is based on the 14th amendment, and our platform calls for legislation clarifying the 14th amendment.
5. Falsely claims that the AFP has made statements opposing Zionism -- in fact, in a recent article the National Chairman states that "devotion to the concept of a Jewish homeland" is acceptable.
6. The AFP's opposition to foreign aid is not greater in the case of Israel than it is for other nations.
7. The AFP does not oppose state funding for public schools, only federal funding.
8. The base of the party was never in "Massachusetts"
9. The base of the party never migrated to Oregon
10. The party has never called for belief in Christianity
11. The party does not make its immigration policy a function of race, whereas the previous article made a claim that we have a position on "non-white immigration".

Is there any differences between the AFP and the Constitution Party, or is it just due to the egomaniacal issue of "leadership"?
- Does Dr. Ed Fields speak for the AFP? This article certainly appears to show that the AFP particularly opposes non-white immigration.
- "The America First Party" is the only organization which takes an open stand for the ten year moratorium plan to stop all immigration...Sinister forces are feverishly working like termites within the government to make this a non-White nation against the wishes of the vast majority of White European Americans.
- Is Fields mistaken? ·:· Will Beback ·:· 03:49, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
Response:
The answer to your question is no, Dr. Fields does not speak for the AFP, nor is he a member of the AFP. I have never heard of him until you mentioned his name. In response, I googled to find more out about him, and there are not really many references to him and the "America First Party". The ADL web site has an article that claims that he was a founder in 1993 of the "America First Party", and that he now leads it. That is an entirely different organization, if it truly exists. The America First Party which is the subject of this Wikipedia article was founded in 2002. We have no use for Nazis, racists, or other bigots, or people who attempt to use violent means to influence the direction of the nation.

This "party" ceases to exist on a national level.
Response:

- Why? It seems as if this party could draw away most of the Constitution Party voters, and maybe eventually challenge the main 2 parties. Why isn't anyone serious, their website isn't even updated!98.165.6.225 (talk) 09:10, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
I assume you mean the "party" allegedly established by Fields in 1993.

[edit] Notability
The AFP secured ballot access in two states in 2004. To my mind, that alone makes it notable. I propose to remove the notability tag. Ground Zero | t 21:24, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
I agree. Tim Long 00:11, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
- I've removed this, the objection has been here for two weeks and been unanswered. JASpencer 19:31, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:PatriotLogo.gif
Image:PatriotLogo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
