[edit] Standard for being included on this list

Many people are a member of this category despite no proof of the person's Methodist affiliation being offered in the article. People should only be in this category if text within the article supports the person's Methodist affiliation.

Being a Methodist means being a member of a Methodist church or having some other strong religious affiliation with Wesleyan principles.

The following are not sufficient evidence of a person's Methodist affiliation:

  • Going to a Methodist-affiliated school.
  • Getting a divinity degree from a Methodist-affiliated theology school (many ministers of other denominations get their degrees through Methodist schools).
  • Being born of Methodist parents.
  • Being related to Methodist ministers.

At this time, I have inspected all people in A-K. Many have been removed who show no evidence whatsoever of being a Methodist. Nova SS 20:51, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
