The American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) is a not-for-profit professional society for home inspectors throughout North America. Founded in 1976, ASHI established itself as the leader[citation needed] in the home inspection profession, and operates a ASHI Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics.
Today, ASHI is the largest professional society of home inspectors in North America, with more than 6,000 members.
ASHI members also receive the ASHI Reporter, which includes technical articles, marketing ideas and news of the Society. The ASHI Reporter is also available through their web site. The ASHI Reporter was named the best "Professional Society Magazine" by Association Trends in 2005.[citation needed]
