Not to be confused with Ambanja, the Malagasy commune with same name.
Ambanja is a district in northern Madagascar. It's a part of Diana Region of Antsiranana Province, and borders the districts of Ambilobe in east, Bealanana in south and Analalava in south-west. The area is 6,328 km² (2,443 sq mi).[1] The district is further divided into 18 communes.
