Alvin Rosenbaum is a leading international tourism development consultant.
Alvin Rosenbaum (1945– ) was born in Florence, Alabama and has lived in the Washington, D.C. area since 1969. He is senior visiting scholar at The George Washington University International Institute of Tourism Studies and author of six books, including Usonia: Frank Lloyd Wright's Design for America (1993) and Works in Progress (1997). He is a tourism development advisor to the United States Agency for International Development and has completed projects in Armenia, Brazil, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Botswana, Bulgaria, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and Zambia. He was employed by The Rosenbaum Group, Inc. 1971–2002 and served as president of the National Center for Heritage Development, National Coalition of Heritage Areas, and the American Heritage Rivers Alliance. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners and Washington's Cosmos Club. He served as cultural tourism chairman, United States Committee, International Council on Monuments and Sites, a UNESCO affiliate.
