Would be quite useful to work out if this grape is the same as Brancelho - it would certainly explain the lack of information about it :-), but I'm wary of some of the German sources. I suspect that only a few people in Portugal know the real story, and even then it could still be waiting for more DNA data. Is there another synonym for it in the Douro - I was surprised to find nothing on the IVDP list. FlagSteward 23:39, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

I've been thinking about this more - if it's not even one of the 11 grapes listed by the IVDP, then it doesn't count as a significant member of the port blend, and it's hard to argue that it even deserves to be a Mid class. I guess if it was the same as Brancelho, which is one of more important of the 40-odd grapes allowed in Vinho Verde, then it would probably deserve a Mid, but for now I think it deserves to be at Low.FlagSteward 14:58, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
