In the article, it says that his appearance is similar to Desmond's except for a scar on his mouth. This is a little misleading since Desmond has the scar too...

Due to the fact that Altair is the only character with an American accent in his time period, I think the player isn't actually seeing the true Altair. Rather, you see the projection of Desmond in Altair's memories (since the game is a series of memories recreated through Desmond). This would explain why he looks exactly like Desmond, and also fits quite well with the story of the game. Anyone else agree? 68.80.190.245 (talk) 05:44, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
