The image Image:Altgens1.jpg is being linked here; though the picture is originally copyright, I (RadioKirk talk to me 23:40, 4 May 2006 (UTC)) believe this image is covered by the U.S. fair use laws because:

  1. It is a copy of a photograph released by the Associated Press for dissemination in accompaniment of a major news story;
  2. It is one of the most widely disseminated and reproduced photographs of a news event in US and global history;
  3. Absent the release of this image into the public domain, no free equivalent is possible; and
  4. Reproduction of the image is not believed to limit the copyright owners' rights in any way.
