Altopascio is a commune in the Province of Lucca in the Tuscany region of Italy with a population of 12,485 and a surface area of 28.7 kilometers² (11.1 mi²).

The municipality lies on approximately 19 meters (62 ft) above sea level.
Altopascio borders the following municipalities: Bientina (PI), Capannori, Castelfranco di Sotto (PI), Chiesina Uzzanese (PT), Fucecchio (FI), Montecarlo, Porcari.

It is famous for the battle of Altopascio in 1325 in which Castruccio Castracani defeated the Florentines and, thanks to his victory, he became duke of Lucca.
