From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The alqueire is a measure of land used in Brazil.
Several regional versions of the measurement exist:
| alqueire paulista | 2.42 hectares |
| alqueire mineiro or goiano | 4.84 hectares |
| alqueire baiano | 9.69 hectares |
| alqueire do norte | 2.72 hectares |
The alqueire was also an old Portuguese measure of capacity which varied between 13 and 22 litres. It was generally used for grain.
