The Alpine Type-R is Alpine's mid range subwoofer, between the Type S and the Type X.
It features dual voice coil construction, available in either dual 2 ohm or dual 4 ohm configuration, and comes in sizes of 10", 12", and 15".
They are known as an "SQL" subwoofer, for their ability to reach high SPL levels while maintaining audio quality.
Car audio enthusiasts hold the Type R in high regard for its ability to reach loud volumes for a modest price.
