An alphagram of a word (or of any group of letters, such as a Scrabble rack) consists of those letters arranged in alphabetical order. For example, the alphagram of ABDICATE is AABCDEIT. Obviously, words which are anagrams have the same alphagram.
Alphagrams are frequently used in the study and recollection of words by tournament Scrabble players. Ironically, the word "Alphagram" is not itself an acceptable word in Scrabble.
