From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hey there! Welcome to my assessment log.
As my main focus on Wikipedia at the moment is assessment, I thought that members of my WikiProjects, and maybe some other people, would be interested to know how far I've got. Because I'm nice, I've also put some advice for newcomers regarding assessment at the bottom of the page.

[edit] Advice section
If you are new to Wikipedia, or just new to assessment, you might find these tips helpful:
- Don't get distracted. If you are concentrating on assessing a long list of articles, it won't help you if you fall by the wayside and start working of the article itself.
- Set yourself a target. This helps motivate you, i.e. stop you getting bored (atleast, not as quickly). It's best to go onto "unknown rating article" categories and aim to finish a certain letter group (e.g. A). Or, if you've got less time, set yourself a target like "I will assess 15 articles today."
- If in doubt: Remember, it's always better to under-assess than over-assess. By over-assessing, you may cause users to nominate the article for GA-status too soon, and a low assessment will usually encourage people to work harder on the article anyway.
- Make your own decisions. Wikipedia is always telling it's users to be bold! So if you've decided on a rating, then don't be put off if it is higher or lower than a rating anothr WikiProject has given it.
- Also, copy the word "assessment" into your clipboard then paste it into every edit summary box while assessing. It saves a lot of time.
