Talk:Alicia Wade

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I'm not doubting the facts in this article (partly because it seems cited just fine) but the overall tone seems to be written by someone with a stake in the case. Perhaps a more neutral point of view can be given. Pharmboy (talk) 02:44, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Neutrality of article

The author of this article does not know the Wades or any of the other participants in the case. However, after learning of this case due to investigation of continuing misconduct of San Diego CPS to this day, the author was very surprised to see that there is an article on the Dale Akiki case but not one on the Alicia Wade case.

If you read the San Diego County Grand Jury report, you will see that there are very serious problems with CPS misconduct. It is very difficult to not sound neutral when such serious misconduct was done to the Wade family. Thus there are many citations to newspaper and newsletter articles regarding this case, plus references to the San Diego County Superior Court cases, the disciplinary against against therapist Kathleen Goodfriend, and more in order to help make the article verifiable.

Slight changes have been made to the wordings of a couple of sentences that seemed judgemental and had the words "gall" and "amazingly" in them. Does this now seem to be more neutral?

  • That is the kind of changes I was talking about, not sweeping, just words that are more neutral. I never felt the notability tag was needed and agree to the removal (I didn't place it there to start with). We just have to be careful to keep articles neutral, which I understand is difficult when dealing with this kind of subject. Still needs some formatting, etc. but that is minor and other people are pretty good at doing that if you are new. You might try reading the links on your user page about style, etc. which are quite useful for making clean articles that are easier to read. All and all, a pretty screwed up case and worth being here, imho, thanks for creating it. Pharmboy (talk) 13:29, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
    • I formatted a bit and changed it to be a little more neutral. Not my specialty but I think it is in the right direction now, enough to not be tagged. Pharmboy (talk) 17:28, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
