Alison Norrington is an English author.

Norrington was born in Essex, to a Wexford family. She grew up in Brentwood, Essex. For the past 18 years, she has divided her time between Wexford, Ireland and Essex, England.

Norrington's major works include:

  • Class Act, Poolbeg, 2003 (an Irish #4 bestseller)
  • Look Before You Leap, Poolbeg, 2004
  • Three of a Kind, Poolbeg, 2005 (an Irish #11 bestseller)
  • Thirty & Fabulous, Poolbeg, 2006 - an anthology to celebrate Poolbeg's 30 year anniversary with proceeds going to Women's Aid
  • Party Animal, Dodder Books, 2006 - an anthology with proceeds going to Animal shelters across UK and Ireland
  • Staying Single, her first fictional blog, published online at www.sophie-stayingsingle.blogspot.com and currently in talks with publishers through the William Morris Agency, London.

Norrington showcased her first play, A Fish & A Bonsai, at The Queen's Theatre, Hornchurch in May 2004 and her second as a rehearsed reading - Pistols at Dawn - on 31st October 2007.

Norrington has written numerous articles for Irish media such as The Irish Star, Irish Tatler, Evening Herald and has been a regular contributor to Woman's Way. She has appeared on Irish national television to discuss her books, 'Ireland am' on TV3, with Marian Keyes to discuss Women's Aid as part of Thirty and Fabulous anthology and also on 'Open House' on RTÉ. She has written in the United Kingdom for Times Educational Supplement, Daily Mail and Real magazine.

Norrington acquired an MA in Creative Writing & New Media where she began to create online stories at www.bluffworx.com MA in Creative Writing and New Media at De Monfort University in Leicester, UK.

She is due to commence her PhD in January 2008 researching emerging platforms for writers.
