Amy Lavender Harris
I teach in the Department of Geography at York University in Toronto, Canada.
My current research, the Imagining Toronto project, explores intersections of literature and place in the Toronto area. I am a contributing writer at Reading Toronto and a contributing editor with Spacing magazine. My work also appears in The State of the Arts: Living with Culture in Toronto (Coach House Books, 2006), (with Peter Fruchter) GreenTOpia (Coach House, forthcoming 2007) and Canada: A Literary Tour (Library & Archives Canada, forthcoming 2008). I speak regularly to popular and scholarly audiences about Toronto literature and the imaginative qualities of cities. I live in The Junction area.
I became a Wikipedia contributor in May of 2006, initially to correct an inaccuracy in a page on Gwendolyn MacEwen. Because my fields of interest are underrepresented here, I have decided to stick around and build pages for them.
