Alfalfa, Oregon

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Alfalfa is an unincorporated community in Deschutes County, Oregon, United States, in the high desert 15 miles east of Bend.[1] Alfalfa was named for the primary forage crop grown there under irrigation.[1] Alfalfa had a post office from 1912 until 1922.[1]

The community consists of a grange/community center/community church, a baseball diamond, and a small store.[citation needed]

The old schoolhouse was shut down, and now runs as a water-carrying service for the Alfalfa area.[citation needed]
