Alex Khanjian (who is also known as AK Habbit, A to da K, AK, Lex Diamond, Ali Boss and Kemikal Khan) an Armenian/Canadian who is a strong believer in his Armenian heritage has incorporated “Hye” meaning Armenian, the famous Ararat mountains and the colors of the Armenian flag into his logo. Finding his love for music composition in the summer of 1998 with his older brother Arbi Khanjian, Hye Lyf Music (pronounced High Life Music) was born. Together they have created over 3000 instrumentals and continue to do so till this day.

With his hard hitting heavy drums and tight clean sound, Alex Khanjian creates original new age instrumentals with flavors of Armenian, Latin, jazz, funk, abstract, orchestral, both synthesized and organic sounds and Hip Hop. His complex patterns and sequencing techniques keep the listener interested and captivated to the music.

Alex’s instrumentals are full of emotions. Telling a story without words or visual aid. From uplifting times to sad times, from an intense or action filled moment to a relaxing moment by the fire.

Alex has spent the past 10 years building his library of instrumentals and refining his skills. Today, he is ready to expose his creative mind to the world. Open to have his works used in various avenues such as film and television, local and abroad artist (lyricists), commercials, video games, documentaries, live presentations, live events, and so on.

Alex has stated DJ Muggs, RZA, Daz Dillinger, Fred Wreck, Johnny J, Battlecat, DJ U-Neek, Dr. Dre, Scarface, Timbaland and Ara Gevorgyan as musicians he is fond of and has taken influence from.
