The rationale for the image's deletion proposal is "Not a newspaper image used to illustrate neither the publication of the article nor the issue in question". I really don't understand why this image was put as a candidate for deletion. A) I did find it on a website, but it evidently is a scan from a newspaper or magazine. I must have seen this picture a dozen times in the Greek press. B) It is used in the article Alexander Papagos, exactly in order to "illustrate the issue in question". C) Since Papagos died in 1955, a free picture of him is not obtainable, and one has to resort to press photos. Regards, Cplakidas 13:46, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
- the problem is the tag used. that tag is for scans of newspapers used in articles about the newspaper itself. --Abu badali (talk) 13:53, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
- OK, then why did you not say so, or change the tag yourself, instead of proposing deletion? I'm changing the tag, and I hope everything is in order. BTW, I'm supposed to get notified about deletion proposals on images I've uploaded, and I wasn't. I saw it by pure chance. Not very helpful... Regards, Cplakidas 17:12, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
- The current tag says this image "has been released by a company or organization to promote their work or product in the media". Are you sure this is accurate? --Abu badali (talk) 17:16, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
- Changed it again. I think now it's OK. But, if I may make a suggestion, since you seem to be very involved in the whole copyright issue, next time, try to suggest a solution before going straight for deletion... Especially when it is evident that fair use rationale exists. If you've nothing else to point out, I'll remove your deletion notices tomorrow. Cplakidas 19:13, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
