Alexandre Afonso da Silva known better as Alex (born August 15, 1983 in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais) is a Brazilian football (soccer) midfielder. He currently plays for Brussels, on loan from K.R.C. Genk.
He signed a 3-year contract with Marília in July 2005, but on loan to Santos until the ennd of 2005 season.
In July 2006, he joined K.R.C. Genk.
