Alexander von Humboldt Foundation

The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (in German Alexander von Humboldt-Stiftung) is a foundation of the German government for the promotion of international cooperation in the field of scientific research. The foundation sponsors a number of competitive fellowships, from postdoctoral fellowships to senior scientist fellowships, primarily for foreign scientists to finance their stay and research in Germany, usually for a period of 6-18 months. The foundation also awards a number of prizes and awards to internationally renowned scientists, such as the Humboldt Prize. [1][2]
