Alexander Zhilkin

Aleksandr Aleksandrovich Zhilkin (born 1959) is the governor of Astrakhan Oblast in Russia. He became acting governor in August 2004, when governor Anatoly Guzhvin, who had been the leader of the province for over a decade, died. Zhilkin was elected governor as candidate of United Russia in 2004, receiving an overall majority, 65% of the vote. He was the first deputy before he became the governor.
