Alex Smith is a professional footballer, who played for a number a clubs after starting his career as a trainee at Everton. Highlights of his career have included promotion with Reading in 2001-02, winning the Nationwide Conference with Chester City in 2003-04 and helping Port Vale lift the LDV Vans Trophy in 2000-01. In January 2003, Smith was part of the Shrewsbury Town side that surprisingly knocked Everton out of the FA Cup, during a loan spell with the Shrews.

Smith can play in either a creative midfield role or full back/wing back positions.
