Alex Calvo García

Alex Calvo-Garcia (born 1 January 1972 in Ordizia, Spain) is a retired professional footballer, who was best remembered for his time as a midfielder for Scunthorpe United. On 29 May 1999, it was his goal in the play-off final against Leyton Orient that secured Scunthorpe promotion to the then-titled Second Division.

He joined Scunthorpe from SD Eibar in 1996. In his time with the club, he made 233 appearances and scored 32 goals.

Following a testemonial match which featured many prolific international footballers, he retired from football and returned to his native Spain at the end of the 2003-2004 season.
