Aleksandar Tunchev (Bulgarian: Александър Тунчев) (born 10 July 1981) is a Bulgarian footballer, currently playing for PFC CSKA Sofia as a defender. Sasho, as known to the fans is the current captain of the CSKA Sofia team. The inspirational strong central defender is a regular fixture in the Bulgarian national team and made his debut against Romania in a UEFA Euro 2008 qualifying match. He scored 1 goal against Luxemburg in a UEFA Euro 2008 qualifying match in Luxembourg. Tunchev is expected to move to a foreign league soon. There have been rumoured interest from Russian, German, English clubs and Paok Thessaloniki.
